Annie Oakley

As promised I'm posting some pics from my day I spent shooting at the gun club. We had a great time, as always.

We did a drill where we only loaded 3 rounds and when someone said go, you had to come out from behind the barricade and fire 3 rounds into a target, I hit all 3 times, yeah!

Our friend Jay at the barricade

The guns we took today (part of the collection) top: Taurus .357, from left to right: Walther P22, CZ50 .32, Beretta 9MM (Hubbys favorite), and my latest toy a Kimber 45 (aint she pretty?, LOL!)

Ken at the barricade

Me shooting the .22

Me with the 9MM

Hubby with his .32 (you can still see the smoke after he fired)

My target (guess who did better? LOL!)

Hubby's target

Me with the .357 (I keep this one in my nightstand by my bed)

Me with the Kimber

Dueling 9's

Apparantly some redneck shot one of these before, LOL!

King Kong

We saw King Kong today. I must say that I wasn't looking forward to seeing it, but I'm glad I did. Peter Jackson did a pretty good job , complete with dinaosaurs and everything. Naomi Watts does a great Faye Ray (?sp) I must agree that I'm not sure I liked Jack Black as the famed director. I read mixed reviews about casting him and I'd have to agree. It's not that I don't think he can play a serious role, I just didn't like him in this one. Adrian Brodie does a good job as the screen writer. All in all, it was pretty good and worth the 3 hours, they went by rather fast actually.

I'm having a great week off. Tomorrow we are taking my brother shooting. I'm gonna take my digital and get some shots to post. Hubby constructed a new target to play with, (rubbing hands together).

Be safe!

Monday, December 26, 2005

Well I wasn't going to post anything this week so I could finish a story I was working on. I finished it today, YEAH!! I know Kate will be happy to read how her life with Joe turned out, LOL! I've already got another one in the works, of course. If only it was this easy to make money from them. That will definitely be my New Year's resolution.

Hope everyone's Christmas went well. It was like 60 degrees here so it was hard to get into the spirit. I didn't exactly want snow, but 60 degrees!! My girls love their lap tops and mommy likes having hers all to herself, ;)

Hubby got me a new ring, the one that I wanted. Also got the 3rd season of Smallville and an organizer for all my scrapbook stuff. Got some new sweaters and candy from my sisters and mom got me one of those memory foam pillows. Slept great last night. All and all it went well.

Off to make dinner, the natives are getting restless.

MP3 players

Playing with my blog again. What can I say, I get bored. I put an MP3 player on it. It has several songs on it, pre-programmed, some of them I like, some not, but I don't feel like making a custom one, too much work involved. This is kind of neat though, visitors to my blog can choose from several songs to listen to while they visit. Give it a try. It's cool.

My girls are officially out of school as of today. I don't know what they did all day, but they didn't kill each other or destroy my house, so I guess it went okay.

My sister made me a wreath for my door, ain't it pretty? She is so talented. I told her that she should sell them. She made this one in 15 minutes, incredible.

3 days til the fat man comes. My girls are getting wired. They want their presents. They will just have to wait a little longer. Hehe!

Changing the past

Yet another end to another weekend. I finished wrapping all of my Christmas presents tonight, thank goodness. I can't believe that Christmas is almost here once again. We were watching some videos of the girls when they were small and my how time flies. One part of it was when my oldest graduated from Dare in the 5th grade (you know, the don't do drugs campaign) and she was standing next to a boy that died this past summer, goofing off on the back of a pickup truck. She looked at me and said she wished that we could go back to some moments. I knew exactly what she was thinking. She wanted to save David. I told her that things happen for a reason and that changing events would only change other events, like a domino effect. Her heart was in the right place, though. If only it were that simple. I started wondering if I could change one major event what would it be? I guess it would be the death of my father. The only problem is, it would require him to quit smoking and even if I told him it would eventually kill him, he was the type of person that wouldn't quit anyway. This is going to sound harsh, but he was pretty selfish in a lot of ways. So I guess I don't know what event I would change, probably nothing since I strongly believe in consequences in doing so.

Okay, enough philosophical shit for one night. Here's my usual Sunday funny:

A professor was giving a lecture on "Involuntary Muscular Contractions" to first year medical students.

Realizing that this was not the most riveting subject the professor decided to lighten the mood slightly.

He pointed to a young woman in the front row and said, "Do you know what your ass hole is doing while you're having an orgasm?"

She replied, "He's probably down at the bar getting drunk with his friends"

Have a great week!

My daughter, the movie star!

Well most of you know about my budding young actress, Kim. She recently did an interview for the home page of the movie she was an extra in, so I thought I would post the link so you could read it if you were interested. There are pics posted as well. We are very proud of her. Check it out!

Christmas pics

Well we finally got around to taking a pic of the girls for our Christmas cards. We have been wanting to do it for a while now, but one of the girls doesn't want to do it for some reason. I made them tonight. I told them that I had to get the cards sent out BEFORE Christmas, not after. This is the one we all voted on....

Sunday, December 11, 2005

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I spent a lot of it just vegetating. I can't wait until Christmas, since I have the whole week off after it. YES!!! Of course, hubby does too, so much for being alone. Drat! Just kidding. I finished up my Christmas shopping today, thank goodness. If I had to brave the mall one more time, I may have gone insane.

For those of you that know I dabble in writing, I may be posting some of my work on an on-line e-novel site. I'll let you know. A friend of mine recommended it to me. That's how she ended up getting published. We shall see. I have to beef up my stories though. They want 40k words. OY! My longest one, not counting the trilogy, is 25k. That just means I have to learn how to bullshit in my writing. I can do it in everyday conversation, so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch. I really would like to get paid to write. That would be my ultimate goal.

I'll leave you with a Sunday funny:

Two men were talking. So, how's your sex life?"
"Oh, nothing special. I'm having Social Security sex."
"Social Security sex?"
"Yeah, you know: I get a little each month, but not enough to live on!"

A wife went in to see a therapist and said, "I've got a big problem,
doctor. Every time we're in bed and my husband climaxes, he lets out
this ear splitting yell."
"My dear," the shrink said, "that's completely natural. I don't see what
the problem is."
"The problem is," she complained, "It wakes me up!"
Tired of a listless sex life, the man came right out and asked his wife
during a recent lovemaking session, "How come you never tell me when you
have an orgasm?"
She glanced at him casually and replied, "You're never home!"

A man was in a terrible accident, and his "manhood" was mangled and torn
from his body. His doctor assured him that modern medicine could give
him back his manhood, but that his insurance wouldn't cover the surgery
since it was considered cosmetic. The doctor said the cost would be
$3,500 for "small, $6,500 for "medium,
$14,000 for "large."
The man was sure he would want a medium or large, but the doctor urged
him to talk it over with his wife before he made any decision. The man
called his wife on the phone and explained their options.
The doctor came back into the room, and found the man looking dejected.
"Well, what have the two of you decided?" asked the doctor.
The man answered, "She'd rather remodel the kitchen".

A husband and his wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th
wedding anniversary.
he husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads:
Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever'."
"Yeah," she replies, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that
Here Lies My Husband - Stiff At Last.'"

My husband came home with a tube of K Y jelly and said, "This will make
you happy tonight."
He was right. When he went out of the bedroom, I squirted it all over
the doorknobs. He couldn't get back in.

One night a 87 yr old woman came home from Bingo to find her 92 yr old
husband in bed with another woman. She became violent and ended up
pushing him off the balcony of their 20th floor assisted living
apartment...killing him instantly.
Brought before the court on charge of murder. The judge asked her if she
had anything to say in her defense.
She began coolly, Yes, your honor, I figured that at 92, if he could
have sex...he could fly.

We put up our tree this weekend. I tried to post a pic of it last night, but I couldn't get on any blogs. ??? Oh well.

We watched the Fantastic Four tonight. It was okay. The actor that played Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) is pretty hot though. Nice bod! See for yourself.

All I Want for Christmas

Miss Sandy started a Santa wish list on her blog. Now I know we all want one of the Leps, well except for Bill and Orion, but what else are you hoping Santa brings you? I'll start.

1. A ring I saw in a jewelers ad
2. Love Spell from Victoria's Secret
3. Bryan Adams 2 disc cd of his greatest hits
4. Gift certificate to Barnes and Nobles (I love to read)
5. Clothes

So what do you want for Christmas?

I Got My DVD!

I got my DL DVD today and I am doing my happy dance!!! OMFG! Phil looks so damn hot in the Slang video. Well he looks good in all the videos, but that one is one of my favs! Unshaven and hot, with sideburns!!! Just like in Work It Out. I think I read somewhere that they filmed them at the same time. I'm watching them as I type this, so don't be surprised if their is typos. LOL! I'm trying really hard not to drool all over my keyboard. And the video for No Matter What (rehearsal), Joe is looking pretty damn hot in that one. And he's just wearing a simple t-shirt with the number 88 on it. I must say that the pants Phil is wearing in the NOW video have to go. I mean, what was he thinking???? I love the commentaries. It's funny to listen to them rip themselves apart with their looks. LOL! I highly recommend this DVD. It's great. Buy it for yourself for your early Christmas present. That's what I did.

Off to drool, I mean watch more of the guys!

Sunday funnies

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I actually ventured to the mall today. A big step for me after Thanksgiving. It wasn't too bad though. My daughters bought some Christmas presents for their friends so I just relaxed on the many sofas around the mall and waited for them to do their thing. I just people watched. It's interesting what some people do when they don't know they are being watched.

Some Sunday funnies for ya:

A woman calls her boss one morning and tells him that she is staying home because she is not feeling well.

"What's the matter?" he asks

"I have a case of anal glaucoma," she says in a weak voice.

"What the hell is anal glaucoma?"

"I can't see my ass coming into work today."

You don't have to own a cat to appreciate this one...

A couple was dressed and ready to go out for the evening. They turned on a night light, turned on the phone answering machine, covered their pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard.

They phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door to leave their house. The cat they had put out into the yard scoots back into the house.

They don't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird. The wife goes out to the taxi while the husband goes inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, the man in hot pursuit.

Waiting in the cab, the wife doesn't want the driver to know the house will be empty for the night. She explains to the driver that her husband will be out soon. "He's just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother."

A few minutes later, the husband gets into the cab."Sorry I took so long", he says as they drive away. "Stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off so I grabbed her by the neck. Then I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked. I hauled her fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!"

The cab driver hit a parked car......

3 A.M. wake up calls

Been playing around with my blog again. Found a cool site that lets you make a picture marquee and another that lets you make tickers. I am anxiously awaiting my new DL dvd. I got an email yesterday that it was shipped out, so I hope I get it today. I'll be doing a happy dance if I do.

My cold is doing much better, but my oldest has strep throat. I started her on antibiotics yesterday. I called her boyfriends mom and told her to watch out for any signs so she can take him since it is so contagious.

I took the girls to see Yours, Mine, and Ours. It was a cute movie. Dennis Quaid is such a cutie pie, and he's in uniform in this one ladies, can we say Officer and a Gentleman? It is similar to the original version with a few changes.

I hope all my American friends had a great Turkey Day. I ate too much as usual, went into another tryptophan stupor, watched some football (of course), and enjoyed some time with my family. I hope Karen survived her day at work. I'll have to check her blog for any updates.

Our security system went off at 3am this morning. Talk about a jolt. Hubby checked out the downstairs (with the shotgun of course) while I talked to the security company on the phone and guarded the upstairs. After much looking, we figured out the curtains in the kitchen must have set it off. The vent blows up right underneath of them and it was colder last night so the heat kicked on downstairs. I'm just glad we didn't have to shoot anyone. I know everyone has different view points about guns in the home, Jude, Tracey and I had an interesting chat about it not along ago, but I for one felt much better knowing we had them when that alarm went off. Home invasions are on the rise unfortunately. We hope we never have to use them, but we will if we are placed in that situation. It was hard to fall back asleep. I kept expecting it to go off again. It's a weird feeling, lots of adrenaline. I'm proud of the kids. They did exactlty what they were taught to do, stay in their rooms unless we tell them differently. The security company called us right away, which was good. All in all it was a good "drill" for us. I just hope we never have to use it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Went back to work today. Feeling a little bit better. Hubby gave me a dose of Nyquil and a shot of some kind of liquor. It did help me sleep a little bit better. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I'll be going to my mom's house to help her cook, then I'll hang out a while, then probably head home. Hubby is going to his parent's with our youngest. The oldest is going to her boyfriends for a little while then over with my husband for the rest of the day. I'm going to enjoy some much needed R&R.

Everyone have a great holiday!

Home sick

I am home sick today with a bad cold which sucks. I just hope I feel better by Turkey Day. Daytime tv sucks. I don't watch soap operas. I'm left with Judge shows and talk shows. Although Bon Jovi was on Ellen this morning, so that was cool. Jon and Richie are looking pretty hot I must say. I don't know if it was my fever or them that was making me warm. LOL! Off to check out some blogs.

Online shopping for iPods

This image reminds me of the one smart ass squirrel in my back yard that loves to antagonize my dachshund.

Overall, my weekend was okay. I did get to see Harry Potter last night, which was REALLY GOOD! We went with some friends and watched it in a theater that was built in 1929, which was pretty cool, (and cold, only heat source was from a small kerosene heater near the screen and we were sitting up in the balcony) Hubby and I snuggled up quite a bit. I didn't mind as long as I got to see the movie.

One of the things my youngest asked for for Christmas was a pink mini iPod, which I think I've mentioned before. Well it turns out they are discontinuing them to replace them with the nano iPod. Of course they are since she wants one. Well after a somewhat lengthy discussion with Kim, she decided that she would be okay with getting the nano, with a pink sleeve jacket, which is a good thing since that is what Santa got for her.

And of course getting one was no easy chore. The stores around here are sold out of them, so I ordered it online at the Apple store. It ended up being cheaper that way and they even engraved it for free, which was cool. I had them put "Drama Queen Kim" on it. It fits her perfectly.

I just love online shopping. It's quick and it's easy. And I don't have to fight the crowds, which for me can literally mean "fight" the crowds. I don't do well in those situations, so it's better that I avoid them at all costs, otherwise hubby will get "the call" to bail me out of jail. What? I don't start fights, I just finish them. It was instilled in me as a military brat, sorry.

They didn't televise the Steeler game here today, which pissed me off, but maybe that was a good thing since WE LOST!!!!! It even went into OT too. Oh well.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I'm looking forward to a 3 day work week this week.

Vote for the Steelers!

Okay guys, I know that you have put up with my football rantings with my team, but I would like to ask you to participate in a contest that Chunky soup is doing.

The Steelers are now in second place.

STEELERS CAN...Go to VOTE and choose the Pittsburgh Steelers!

This year, two NFL teams will earn donations of Campbell's soup to the food banks of their choice. For the team with the most clicks, Campbell's will get the stats for all the players on the teams official roster and donate the teams total weight in cans! So far, the Green Bay Packers remain the undefeated, will they stay on top, or will they get a run for their money this year? It's up to you! Take a moment and click and pass it on to others to help fight hunger.

Thanks everyone!

Harry Potter and Bunko night

Hope everyone had a great week. I'm loving that I only have a 3 day work week next week. YES! I'm also excited that the new HP is out this weekend. Hubby is taking me to see it tomorrow night. I'm such a kid when it comes to those books and movies. What can I say? Well I'm off to play Bunko with some friends. Have a great weekend everyone.

A little Friday game for ya:

This is a good one!

Let us see how you key in on people at first sight.

Shopping and promise rings

Well I managed to get some more Christmas shopping done yesterday. My mom and I went pretty early before most of the crowds hit, so it was nice. Especially since we had to go to the mall. I hate going there too. I hate all of those little kiosks that they have. Someone tried to get us to try some new hand lotion while another wanted us to try some hair straightener. I mean you've seen my hair, can it get any more straight?? I don't think so. Just let me shop!!! I did accomplish a lot though, of course that meant spending a lot as well, but I have a Christmas club through work, so I just put some $ in it all year and withdraw it at the end of October. That way I don't have to feel like I'm spending a lot of our $ in the checking account all at one time. Hubby would blow his top if I did that since I usually spend at least a thousand on the girls easy, especially now that they are older and want things like iPods and laptops.

My daughter and her boyfriend, Will (the one standing next to her in the Halloween pics)are getting more serious. They bought each other promise rings. I asked her what they signified and she said they meant two things. One, that they wouldn't date other people and two, no sex before marriage. I liked the second half of course. I just hope they stick to it. I guess hubby will just have to clean more guns when Will comes over, LOL!

We are going over to the in-laws today for a visit. My mom-n-law is making pizza and she makes great pizza, so I'm excited.

It looks like I missed another talk with the Odettes last night, which pisses me off. Sorry ladies, I'll try to be there next time.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

God Bless The USA

Image hosted by

I wanted to put this song on my blog, but I couldn't find a code for it, so I'm posting a link instead. It says everything I'm feeling this Veteran's Day. I'd like to especially thank my father, my father-n-law, my brother, and my nephew. You are all brave individuals who sacrifice so I can have. I love you all. Please take a moment to remember those who have fought and those who continue to fight so we can be free.

My Trytophan Stupor

We had our Thanksgiving luncheon at work today and I ate entirely too much food. I had to do an extra workout tonight to make up for it. And of course all those carbs and the tryptophan in the turkey made me want to take a serious nap this afternoon. Thankfully, I was too busy to think about it.

Jude has been "demanding" some rock on Orion's site, so the ACDC is just for you chickie, enjoy! I have been trying to find a certain music code for my site that I haven't been able to find. We are huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans in my house, have all the episodes on DVD, and I love the theme song for it. If anyone knows where I can get the code, I would be forever grateful to ya.

And now something fun for ya:

Take the quiz: "Which Greek god/goddess are you?"

You are Demeter! Demter was the Goddess of Agriculture,Her daughter was taken by Hades, the God of the Underworld,to become Queen of the Underworld. She was devestated and the world went into a state of perpetual Winter. She bargained with Hades that she could see her daughter half of every year, the Spring and Summer, which bloomed with flowers and returned to it's regular state while Fall and Winter stayed barren.

My Little Models

The girls were posing for pics again yesterday in the front yard. They love to get the digital out and pose for each other. They are not the least bit vain, though, LOL! Now that I've discovered photobucket, I'm sure you guys are gonna get tired of seeing my girls, but I just can't help it. I love to show them off. I'm a proud mama. I just got done changing my blog. I'll probably add some more things here and there, but I'm happy with it in general.

Off to bed for the night. It's been a long day.

Talk to yous guys later!

In-Laws are coming for dinner!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday afternoon. Hubby and I went to the new Wal-Mart today to get some things for the kiddies for Christmas. I got Stephanie a best of Bryan Adams cd since after she saw him in concert, fell in love with his music. Who can blame her? We also got her a new stereo thingy for her room. Hers is pretty old and the cd's were getting stuck in it. We looked at some iPODs for Kim, but they didn't have any pink ones. She was very specific about the color. Daddy is going to check out Best Buy, which is dangerous for him because he loves that place, so I'm sure he'll come home with more than an iPOD. My in-laws are coming over for dinner today so I baked a chocolate cake which the girls keep trying to eat. Hubby is cooking a pork roast which is smelling very good right about now. He's an excellent cook. Got lucky with that one. And he cleans up after himself in the kitchen too, aren't ya jealous?? LOL!

I'm going to leave you with a little Sunday funny:

Lipstick in School -- Priceless!!

According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the girl's bathroom.

That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips
to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.

She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night.

To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the
maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.

He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.

Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

There are teachers, and then, there are educators.

Hugs and kisses,
