Stacy is pregnant!

I helped get my friend pregnant! I guess I should probably explain this since some of you are going, "What the heck???"

Stacy is a co-worker and dear friend who has been trying, unsucessfully to get pregnant for a while now. Part of her "failure" (most of it really) was due to the fact that the docs we work for are NOT fertility specialists and have NO idea what they are doing. She decided to go with IVF (invitro fertilization). For those of who who don't know what that is, basically it is removal of her eggs and fertilizes them with hubby's sperm and implanting them back in. She went to a great place in Charleston, SC a couple of weeks ago and had two implanted. She had a positive pregnancy test yesterday morning which made my day!!!

Okay, so now you are saying, "What role did you play in this?" Well, I did her ultrasounds for the clinic in Charleston to see when she was "ready" for implantation. So, basically I had to be very accurate in my studies so it would work properly.

Stacy is actually the second person I helped get pregnant and it was such a great experience to be a part of. I am thinking about doing it for a clinic close to me on the weekends. I think it would be a great opportunity to help others like Stacy. We shall see.

An update on softball, both of my girls are playing rec ball this spring, so I still get to see some softball, YEAH!!

Rascal Flatts show

Well, we went to the Rascal Flatts show last night, and it was great! They even did some cover songs too, like Rocket Man, Hotel California, and Liza Jane. Someone got proposed to, which was really sweet. I forgot my camera though, DUH! A friend of mine went and had like 3rd row seats so I emailed her and asked her to send me some of her pics. When and if she does, I'll post some.

We had some pretty good seats, not as good as Def Leppard, but pretty good. They rocked it out though, country style. If anyone of you haven't heard them before, I encourage you to give them a try. They are great. I am not a huge country fan, but I love them. I usually go to a show and end up wishing it was Def Leppard, but I didn't do that this time. They held their own against my boys and did a fantastic job entertaining me and they sounded great live. I really hate it when you go see someone and they sound terrible live.

Well, we got some pretty bad news yesterday, they cut my daughter from the softball team which really pissed me off. It's become so political now. I know she is better than some of the girls that they kept, hell she's been playing for almost 8 years!! She seemed okay with it. She said that she was just going to concentrate on school and not worry about it. I think we were more upset than she was. My youngest didn't try out for the middle school team. She's just getting over bronchitis and was in no shape to try out. She might play rec ball though, so we will see. I hope I get to go to some softball games this year.

Well, the laundry is calling to me, so I better scoot. Have a great weekend!

My Baby's Sweet 16!

Well, my baby is officially Sweet 16 today. The party was a big success. Stephanie and her friends had a great time, as you can see in the pics below. My head is still hurting today from all the loud music. I guess I'm getting way too old for that, (with the exception of Def Leppard concerts, of course). When the DJ was setting up, my phone rang and of course I have PSSOM as a ring tone and he asked if I would like for him to play any DL and I said of course and he asked if the birthday girl would be okay with that and I answered that she was just as big of a fan, LOL! So the kids rocked out to PSSOM.

So now we just have to prepare for the winter formal. I'm taking her to get her hair done at 1:00 in an updo. She already got her pedicure before her party last night, so that's all set. I'll post some pics of her in her dress either tonight or tomorrow.

It's Softball Season

I have to take a moment to brag about my oldest daughter, (not that I never do that, LOL!) I went out today to get some additional things for her party that I forgot about (one thing being candles for the cake, how did I forget about those??)

My girls have a small list of chores to do every weekend, so when I left this morning I told them to make sure they did them. Well, when I returned home a few hours later, Stephanie not only did her list of chores, but also did most of my laundry and a good deal of her homework. She is such a great kid!!! She is taking AP Psychology right now and has tons and tons of work to do for it, so for her to take time away from that and help her mother was just so sweet. And she spent NO time with Will today so she could accomplish all of these things and that is a BIG sacrifice for her.

Now softball starts back up again on Monday, so beware, I am a softball mom. We eat, live, and breathe softball in my house from February til August. My youngest is trying out this year for the middle school team, so keep your fingers crossed!! I will be posting about her games (wins and losses), ranting about "Blue" (the umpire), and venting from time to time. I apologize ahead of time. If you thought I was a football fanatic, you ain't seen nothing yet, LOL!

Okay, now some bragging for my youngest. Her modeling teacher called us and wants to use some of Kim's pics for a advertising campaign she is doing for her school, so Kim's picture may be in the newspaper! She is very excited about it. I am going to have her autograph a copy for me, LOL!

Well, I think that about brings us up to date for now. I'm off to do some writing since hubby keeps asking me for another chapter, the slave driver!

Have a great weekend!

All I can say is, it's about damn time!!! We have coveted this ring since 1981 and we finally have it!!! Great job guys!! I think I'm wearing my Ben jersey to work tomorrow, screw it! I am soooo proud of them. They deserve it. The Seahawks played a good game, just not good enough. Maybe next time guys.

Well it's Super Bowl Sunday and it's no secret who I'm rooting for. My brother is in Detroit at a tailgate party. I've seen him on tv twice already, lucky bastard! He better come back with some good stories and lots of pics.

My Baby is growing up!

Well, the invitations are in the mail, the food has been ordered as well as the cake, and the decorations bought. In sixteen days, my baby will be 16!! It is still hard for me to believe. I read about Dick's granddaughter being in kindergarten and I think, it wasn't that long ago that Stephanie started kindergarten. I still remember exactly what she was wearing and her Pocahontas back pack. She seemed so small and fragile then, still needing mommy to help her with everything. Now she's driving a car and making plans as to what college she's going to attend. (Wiping at my tears). I am going to be a mess when she graduates from high school, and forget about when she gets married, I will be popping Xanax on that day, LOL!

My husband is currently transfering video to DVD and we have been watching old home videos of the girls. Ah, to be able to turn back time. It passes much to quickly. I have to stop myself every now and again, because I am always wishing the work week away to get to the weekend, but it's at the cost of another week of my girls getting older.

Okay, this is depressing me too much. Off to have to ice cream to cheer me up!
